Trick or Treat!
The majority of us are just winging it (pun not intended) this year when it comes to Halloween and trick or treating so why not have some fun with it :)
Update: I made these during stay at home orders but they were such a hit that I’m repeating them for this year!
I figured a lot of us will be doing scavenger hunts with the littles in our lives or “boo-ing” our friends - why not put a fangtastic twist on an Easter classic!
Here’s what you’ll need
Materials:
Easter Eggs ( I accidentally order huge eggs but ended up being super happy that I did!)
Scissors
Glue Gun OR Glue Dots
Step 1: Download the wing template. I made these the correct size for my large eggs but you can adjust the scale when you print them to fit whatever size you need.
Step 2: Cut out the template and trace two wings onto black construction paper. Then cut them out and place them off the the side.
Step 3: Be VERY careful with this first step! I used a tiny nail (but you can totally use a safer option, maybe a push pin?) to make a small hole at the “bottom” of the egg. The hole just needs to be large enough to thread your fishing line through after you paint egg.
Step 4: Grab your foam brush, acrylic paint, eggs and get painting! I split the egg, started with the bottom and let it dry while I continued with the top. I did one coat and then when it was dry, I went back and touched up whatever spots I needed to. *be sure to take note the way the egg hangs, the egg shaped top being the bottom of the bat*
Step 5: Heat up your glue gun (or get out your glue dots). Take your traced wings and glue them together and then glue them on the back of the bottom portion of the egg.
Step 6: Put glue on the back of your googly eyes and place them on your top.
Step 7: Cut triangles out of your electrical tape and put them on the front of your bat.
Step 8: Fill with candy (or make a boozy bat with mini bottles of liquor) and enjoy!
If you decide to make these for your Halloween hunt or to “boo” someone let me know! I’d love to see them :)
Cheers and Happy Halloween!
